I'm back from manganext *sigh* it's been a long weekend..........

This is really long btw so read at yer own risk I'm long winded whatevers! at least if you read it you get to know me better then reading some drivel about who I hung out with xD

getting ready was stressful as ever epically since it's very cold here suddenly and hard to want to do things when your frozen. I ended up having to bring one of the button makers to finish on site which worked out ok though. Thursday was more exhausting then I realized though, I went to my aunts funeral and cried more then I wanted to and was sad and tired and had too many "fake" family members around so completely exhausted that day.
Then Friday manganext the drive there was bad, confusing, lucky the way home we were smart enough to just ask for directions to the turnpike and got home super fast and easy after that! But wow i have to say manganext totally ruined halloween this year for me I thought it'd be cool but it wasn't at all! Alot of people brought halloween deco and candy but like no one WANTED the candy and only 1 person, just 1, actually trick or treated! >.< wasted! Plus I couldn't really enjoy the halloween spirit as much having to get ready for the con ah! and We had to beg for people to take the rest of the candy away! xD
Con side, there was like probably only 100 people on Friday, the artist alley was mostly artists walking around looking at each others tables, super super super lucky if you made a sale. My sister kinda enjoyed the swap meet but there was like 3 other people there and she didn't get much *sigh* It was look really bleak but the hotel seemed nice, it was sooooooooooooo big and the staff were really helpful for our situation they let me check in early and check out late without charge cause I was traveling with my mom who is 69 this year and cant get around well, I couldn't leave her alone this weekend, I worry the neighborhood kids would cause trouble on halloween night. But the beds we're really tiny in our room it was like bigger then twin but smaller then a double O.o
Saturday was alot busier which was GOOD! I was glad but while it was busybusy in the earlier part of the day it still died down pretty early and no one was around the end of the day. I went to a gothic lolita manga panel which was really nice to get away and do something else and the girls were so sweet and plugged my table via pointing at me and WOW I was so flattered and embarrassed xD It might have been friday I'm thinking of also, but there was alot of awesome people who stopped by the table and we're lovely to chat with, I discovered the 2 con guests we're in the artists alley so I got Rica Takashima's autograph on a mini print I bought from her which was exciting then I discovered Misato Rock's table by accident and she was sooooooooooooooooooooo nice! We had some stuff in common and talked alittle on art and manga's we both like and I bought 2 of her works and she signed them for me which was neat. I didn't make it to her panel later in the day though I also bought a lolita headband cause I was wanting one and saw a red and white one that suited my shirt really well oh wait..that was friday xD oh well I wore it for the rest of the weekend cause it was so cute and didn't look terrible on me yea~
But the end of the night Saturday though I was just ticked off. It was obvious this con wasn't the best and what irritated me was I know some people who wanted to get into the artist alley but couldn't and yet alot of the people who DID get tables DIDN'T USE THEM!! They kept leaving for hours and hours stay for 2 hours and complain that they didn't sell anything O.o Some just left the table and never cared even when someone was standing in front of it with money in their hand xD I was like dude why buy a table just to abandon it? It made the whole room look bad cause people would walk in, see not alot going on and leave without looking Not cool. I noticed ALOT of table swatters too, which I found kinda gross and there was just too many people epically 2 groups who treated the artist alley as their own private hang out area, they didn't care to clean up all their crap they left behind, they came in just to play around and eat really stinky food and they'd shout across the room without a care for anyone else in the area who was trying to make sales and talk to people in ear range I mean seriously It was annoying the FUNK out of me. Probably what annoyed me the most, to put me in a rage about it for the following 12 hours was at like 11 when we packed up the table and left, I was lugging 2 EXTREMELY heavy and super big japan brand luggage through the hotel as normal ok? Now these luggage's are being pulled, I'm going my best to keep an eye on where they're rolling and keep going but like I said they are BIG and HEAVY and drift off track easily. I stopped at 2 security alley staff who were sitting across from each other, one on the floor and told them I'm coming through, large luggage, mind your feet. I waited, they looked at me stupid, then the guy on the floor moved his feet back 2 inches. seriously. so now the floor space is like 1.2feet *rolls eyes* so I say okay and I slowly roll past minding they luggage's as best I can, but when i turned my head the smaller one had rolled over the guys feet. I felt so pissed off that I was like yeah I'm not even sorry and yep I said it out loud cause it's like DUDE it's 11 pm closing is 12 we HAVE to take stuff with us at night, you SAW me coming and I ASKED NICELY for you to MOVE but you still just sat there so NO i don't care your feet got run over. DAMN but it pisses me off cause it makes ME look like a bad person but I'm not, I tried, they just we not co-operating and I was NOT in the mood to be super nice when I need not be.
Then to top off my bad mood, walking around to the elevators a group of ota-dorks decided to make a HUGH sit in circle on the floor blocking the elevators. So i was like, ok. I walked up and said um we have to get by. They looked at me funny so i said 5 more times we have luggage and need to get through so they finally let us in after giving some crap about dangerous and don't break the circle! Then lugging the heavy ass luggage half way through the "circle" some morons suddenly fall down in front of my feet and I was so mad! I shouted "SERIOUSLY GUYS! I NEED TO GET THROUGH!" then get to the last end to pass to the elevators and the people there still look at me dumb like they have NO IDEA what I want and i even had to tell this chick to move her phone cause the luggage will crush it. DAMN then this L cosplayer guy moves over like 2 inchs OMFG! So i push through anyway, and I never looked back to see if he got run over or not I was so livid I was bitching loudly at the elevators about working all day long and having to put up with this shit at the end of the day some more! And where the hell are the staff from hotel or con to keep morons from sitting around on the floor blocking people's way? I was even MORE mad that it was like I was the one who looked bad, because I don't like the idea of someone thinking I'm a bad person. I tried and they just didn't want to co-operate, there was no way around but to go through these 2 spots so what else could I have done except say Ok~ and just sat there all night till they let me through? damn.
Anyway sunday I was hoping would be a ok day but turned out pretty slow same as friday really. Not many sales, lots of lull times and I went to a drawing panel misako rocks was hosting but was disappointed when it turned out to be like heres how you draw eyes...because I assumed it was about how to panel manga's etc. But she did cover that super briefly last min. I drew along but it was weird to see how someone else draws, it was totally different from mine xD My sister and the girl sitting next to us was shocked to see the old man I drew during the panel though, it's really weird to draw but turned out not horrible xD I did pick up some tips that might help me make manlier guys and older people The only other thing that really happened was some drama over packing at the end of the day, and we stopped at red robin on the way home for a relaxing but over priced meal >.< Once I saw the bill I noticed their prices increased and wished I had just gotten mcd instead xD But it was relaxing after the weekend.

anyway so summery, manganext not a total bust but pretty darn close and the staff really need to get on the ball. I mean sometimes they TRY to make rules and enforce it but it's like half hearted I see them tell someone no you can't do that then everyone ignores them and they give up and walk away mumbling you shouldn't do that..xD Friday when no one was around I was asked not to take pictures. I said it's my own table and he still seem unhappy. Honestly I was annoyed that they'd say that but at the same time I also was thinking since I was taking picts so many picts of just the table only, I would hope he would be a bit more strict since he didn't know it was MY table. Then Saturday when it was more busy, no one walked around to check on pict taking at all! I stared at one guy who took shots of the whole room a few times and oh!! Saturday night, the "creepy guy" showed up, some guy dressed alittle funny walked around with a pro looking camera and snapped shots he came BEHIND my table and stood there long time till I had to go against my nature to tell him this area is for the artists only cause I was feeling threatened by him standing behind me then he asked me and the girl next to me for a headshot photo because as he said, the convention wanted a headshot of all the artists. I didn't believe it for one min, I considered it but his badge was turned around and didn't seem to say anything special, he was taking photo when 80% of the people had gone for the day and no staffer had said a damn thing about this PLUS why would the convention people want my photo when I was already at the con? I already had my art and a profile in the con booklet there was no need for anything for AFTER the con, so we both said NO. and he left. But WEIRD!

We already did a discussion over the conventions and we decided we're probably gonna give AnimeNext a 2nd chance next year, we'll def be going to Zenkaikon, Otakon and For Manganext ONLY because the drive via turnpike is like 1 hour we'll be going again next year but for Saturday only. Drive in early, leave late and done. We're also considering AnimeUsa and Nekocon but we'll see. Got to get an artist alley slot for all of them first. But I'm positive that I'm done for the year it's too cold to deal with artist alleys now, I'll skip all the winter cons and huddle under my covers xD The interesting thing is if my fiancee can actually get leave and a ticket he might be here during the time that animenext is which would make me really happy! If he is I'll be with him all weekend (draws 1 billon hearts here) and he'll get to see how american japanese culture fans are.
